" Protection nets or armstraps must be used. Net must cover the door/window area so the arm/hand
cannot come outside the car. This also applies to armstraps. If arm straps are used they must open
    together with the harness."

I didn't found anywhere allowed construction of net? Is that old 50x50 mm and 2 mm wire or race use made fabric net properly installed still valid?

Would like to know quite quickly, cause people here build cars...

    Hello,

the point 3.2.6.4 Basic structure must be made according to one of the following designs

Designs 2 and 3 are actually the same, design 2 should be fixed according to description.

    ciao

No, they are not the same, one of them is with a B-bar and 2 lateral half sidebars, the other is 2 lateral sidebars with NO B-bar.

The descriptions are different but actually the images/sketches of the roll cages version 2 and 3 are the same, the second sketch should be different with an one-piece B-bar as I saw in a former version of the rules. Just a "copy and paste" mistake.

As you alreaddy for sure have read Junde, this is now the rule for all classes

    3.4.2.12 Protective netting /Armstraps
Recommended but not necessary. Protection nets or armstraps must be used. Net must cover the door/window area so the arm/hand cannot come outside the car. This also applies to armstraps. If arm straps are used they must open together with the harness.

There is no rules saying what kind of net or what it shpould be made of... for sure it should have been... but for this year this is the text

Ok, so if we now buy armstraps and windownets from usa we can use theese allso next year.
(and I´m not talkin about any fishing nets but real products made for this use even that they don´t have FIA approval.)

    No Brynjar...
You didn´t miss anything. The text "Recommended but not necessary." is striked (overlined) in the regulations, but it is not visible here. I've done the old, no longer valid text blue above....

You don´t need to have both straps and net. It´s either straps or net.

And as for the net. Max 50mm mesh size and min 2mm wire/thread will be ok...

yeah, I knew that, I'm talking behalf of several finnish drivers, but it is good that you claryfy this so that everybody who reads this forum gets correct information.

Here is a question I have not been able to answer.

Here in Italy (and I think in all south-Europe) the latest version of the suzuki samurai came on the market with full plastic front and rear bumpers and power steering as standard equipment.

Please note that this is NOT the so called "coily samurai" but an updated version of the classic samurai with leaf springs.

Some drivers in the ORIGINAL category asked me if it is possible for them to upgrade their older model samurais with these plastic bumpers and the original power steering.

The rules for ORIGINAL say "All accessories and all special equipment, which can be supplied with the vehicle purchase, are allowed if no restrictions are present. Older vehicles may be brought up to date, according to its type."

Then I would say YES, but what is your opinion on this?

Also what kind of documentation the driver should bring with him to attest this during the technical verifications?
A commercial brochure or even this same picture can be considered as a valid documentation?

    Thanks in advance
    Giacomo
