thx
i see that before, is a verry good thread. but the only information about turning axle is :

'''jepp det regnet jeg medmen hva må ellers gjøres med den???
Snur bare portalene rundt justerer caster og weld on'''
a little bit dificult to translate and understand

another nybegynner qestions ... why not a vw tdi spider ?
the tdi engine have a bigger torqe
is horse power not egnof? or is the engine to heavy ?
i just ask :maggie:

it's very simple on the 404,
take the portals off (4 bolts INSIDE the king pins) -
turn the axle left-to-right (upside down) -
take out the diff -
swap sides on the crown wheel. a little bit of grinding required -
put the portals and steering back on. you may want to drill new 4 holes to turn it to correct caster. some guys just weld them back on -
protect locker arm, it is now downwards.

now you have a right diffed axle that turns the correct way.

alternatively - use a Honda engine!
