    Thats me!

    Tips for tube stretching?

There are 3 things to keep in mind:
    1) The CLR of your tube is larger than your die. If you have a die that is labeled as 150mm than your actual part will be closer to a CLR of 160mm

    2) The bend doesn't start at the end of the die. You need to know where the bend starts or create an "offset" in your calculations.

    3) The material does stretch more than compress. So that means if you calculate your layouts down the center of the tube you will always be too long.

I have some easy calibration in our software products "Bend-Tech" to help with all 3 of these issues.

I have bee drawed whit Acad "arlyer" and diming and 3d polyline is easyer to draw but if i want to line 2"inch longer i hav to draw new path becouse 3Dpl can not STRETCH or i don´t how, but solidworks is a lot harder to learn and has more possibility

If you are really looking for an easier way to design a tube assembly, Bend-Tech PRO and Bend-Tech SE are the only way to go. You will learn the software in about 2 hours and have your first tube chassis pounded out about 3 to 4 hours later. The SE version even offers a 3d dxf export and import to communicate with your acad or sw.

And because you are in bend-tech the cut lengths, rotations and bend angles PLUS cutting fish-mouth templates are done and you are ready to start building.

$275.00 to $525.00 depending on what you need. You can find it at:
    www.bend-tech.com or www.2020softwaresolutions.com

The software is beyond easy to use. Most customers have little or no cad experience.

If it should matter, I have been a vendor on Pirate4x4.com (North America version) for 3 years.

How about ArchiCAD? Have anyone managed to draw any suitable tubing structures using that program?

I use Sketchup myself. Easy to learn and easy to use, and above all free.
